I come from a running family. My dad is an amazing runner! He coaches over 40 athletes including some that have made it to the world championships and the olympic trials. My mom has also run for years. My sister runs XC and track for college.
I have been running since the age of 13. I was REALLY BAD at running when I started. Believe me when I say I was terrible and hated running when I started. I was over-weight and running was not enjoyment for me. I was embarrassed to run around my neighborhood because I was so overweight and slow.
In high school, I finally became better with running and lost some weight. My times dropped drastically from running 33 minutes in a 5k in 7th grade to running 22 minutes my sophomore year of high school. Once my times started to drop I really enjoyed the sport!
College came with several disappointments. I got injured a lot! I injured my lower back sophomore year of college and have never truly recovered from it. Every time I pick up the pace my back started to hurt.
Now I run for FUN! I love running. It has changed my life for the better! Finished grad school and have started working. Trying to get in shape and LIFT more
